The RARE Experience has blossomed into a transformative Systems Simulation—an interactive and immersive journey that lays bare the tangled realities of life after system involvement. Participants step into the shoes of justice-impacted individuals, navigating choices and consequences that reveal how tightly woven—and how deeply unjust—our systems can be.

At the heart of the simulation is our Reentry Model, the foundation that walks participants through the first precarious month post-release. From securing identification and employment to meeting supervision requirements and covering basic needs, this model strips away assumption and lays the truth bare: reentry is not a straight path, but a maze built of barriers.

Building upon that foundation, the simulation unfolds into a series of interconnected models—each one a window into another dimension of systemic oppression:

Mental Health: exposing how access to care and stigma collide.

Immigration: revealing the weight of language barriers, legal status, and financial burdens.

Family Balancing Act: exploring the impossible trade-offs of parenting, caregiving, and survival.

Housing Insecurities: confronting the revolving door of unstable shelter and limited opportunity.
